Must know UI UX Terms

Must know terms in UI USER INTERFACE AND UX USER EXPEIENCE

Prototype | Design Defined | InVision

Low Fidelity

we use pen and paper to draw our design, app, or website roughly!. It takes very little effort. The design and visuals are not much appealing.

Mid Fidelity

Balsamiq Wireframes - Industry Standard Low-Fidelity Wireframing Software | Balsamiq

we use a tool like Balsamiq or wireframe.cc. It is called wireframing.

High Fidelity

It is almost similar to the final product. It has a great visual experience. It is interactive.

Wireframing

It is a blueprint or skeletal representation of a website or app. It has three main goals.

1. To display the content of the website or app

2. To display the website or app UI

3. To display and outline the page structure and layout.

Gray lines, boxes, colors, and placeholders are used to display the contents, UI, structure, and layout of a website or app. So, it is perfect to be used at the brainstorming or very early design stage.

Prototype

It is similar to a finished app or website.  It is interactive, has proper UX,  UI, and more visuals. This can be great to take feedbacks from the users.

Interaction Design

We make interactive and engaging web or app interfaces. We keep in mind the possible ways in which the users can interact with our product.

Smart Objects

A smart object is one that does not lose its real quality when we scale up or scale down the image.

Vector Image

A vector graphic is made up of points, lines, and curves. This means that no matter how close you zoom in on the image, the lines, curves, and points remain smooth.

Raster vs. Vector: What's the Difference and When to Use Which

Raster graphic

It is made up of pixels and on scaling, the image loses its quality.

NOTE: Vector image can be converted into a raster image but a raster image cannot be converted into a vector image.

Mockup

A mockup is like a model of a building. It has more UI and visual details than a wireframe. It is less time consuming than prototyping.
